Visual Arts & Design Scholarship

This form allows you to apply for Briar Cliff University’s Visual Arts & Design Scholarship by submitting your artwork for review. Awards recognize creativity and artistic potential and may be offered to students pursuing Graphic Design, Studio Art, or related visual arts programs. Scholarship consideration is based on your admission status and the portfolio you provide through this application.

You'll be asked to upload or link to a digital portfolio (up to 10 pieces), or indicate participation in an exhibition or critique day. Accepted students may qualify for awards up to $5,000 per year, renewable with continued academic progress and departmental involvement.

Visual Art

The art program prepares artistically competent and liberally educated individuals. Students will develop their intellectual abilities and technical skills through studio production, art history critical theory seminars, and education method courses.

Graphic Design

The Briar Cliff University major in graphic design integrates the traditional mass communication education with design and production skills for the field of graphic design. The program includes typography, drawing, history, design theory and design production.

High School Critique Day

Each student will bring one artwork, which will be displayed in the gallery as part of a temporary exhibition. The event will include an introduction to how critiques work, followed by a guided college-level critique of the students’ own work.
